Bangladesh regularly suffers strikes. The latest one started on October 27th and has ended yesterday, October 29th. As most of the strikes in Bangladesh, there have been dramatic social and economic consequences. Besides, Bangladesh inspections and productions have been delayed.

Bangladesh nationwide strike

Everything started because the prime minister rejected the main opposition’s request to allow a neutral caretaker administration to oversee the election process due by early next year. As a consequence, the Bangladeshis decided to go out on the streets to express their opinion. There were fights between opposition and government supporters. The police reacted violently.

As a consequence, Bangladesh inspections are suffering delays, some production lines are stopped. Buyers should be patient and wait until the social unrest in the country seizes. It is highly recommended to stay in contact with the suppliers in order to be up to date on the strike evolution in the supplier’s specific region.
